ROOTS AND RISING: A Humble Prince of Yamaltu

Born Born on February 21, 1968 in the historic town of Dadin Kowa, now part of Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, Alhassan Ibrahim hails from a royal and aristocratic lineage. He is the grandson of the first District Head of Yamaltu and the son of the first Emir of Yamaltu and Sarkin Kudun Gombe, the late Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Bello (MFR). His late father was a distinguished Islamic scholar, teacher, journalist, Imam, and traditional ruler, a man of many virtues and great influence.

Alhassan Ibrahim, embodies the true spirit of humility and service. Despite his noble roots, he remains deeply connected to the people. He is a detribalized Nigerian and an exceptional team player, known for his willingness to listen, his moral uprightness, and his sound judgment in handling responsibilities. His hobbies, reading, traveling, and farming, reflect his thoughtful and grounded nature.

From the early days of his life, Alhassan was known for his respectful nature, calm wisdom, and principled outlook. He walked with royalty in his blood but never distanced himself from the common man. He learned early that true leadership is not inherited, it is earned through service, compassion, and unwavering integrity.

His academic journey is equally impressive. He began at Bello Central Primary School, Dadin Kowa (1973 - 1979), and moved on to Government Secondary School, Kumo (1979 - 1984). His intellectual ambition led him to Bauchi College of Art and Science (BACAS) Bauchi, where he obtained his IJMB Certificate (1984 - 1986), before pursuing a B.A. (Hons) in History from the University of Maiduguri.

Alhassan’s thirst for knowledge was never quenched. In 1998, he traveled to Khartoum, Sudan, to obtain a Certificate in Arabic Language from the International University of Africa. He further distinguished himself with a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from the prestigious Bayero University, Kano.



A TOWERING FIGURE IN PUBLIC SERVICE

With over three decades of unb bylemished service, Alhassan Ibrahim is the embodiment of administrative excellence in Gombe State. His journey began on May 20, 1992, as an Administrative Officer in the then Bauchi State Water Board. With the creation of Gombe State, he became a vital pillar in shaping its civil service structure.

His career rose steadily:

Assistant General Manager (Administration), Gombe State Water Board (2006–2017)

Director of Administration (2018)

Director, Admin & Finance, Ministry of Environment (2018–2021)

Director, Admin & Finance, Ministry of Education (2021–2023)

Director, Admin & Finance, Government House, Gombe (2023)

Appointed Permanent Secretary, Government House on 12th November 2024 and Sworn in  on 9th January 2025 by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya

Alhassan Ibrahim’s work speaks louder than any title. His honesty, quiet discipline, and results-driven approach have earned him the respect of governors, colleagues, and subordinates alike. He is not a man of noise, but of action. Not a man of position, but of value.



A MAN OF VISION, A MAN OF PEOPLE

What truly sets Alhassan Ibrahim apart is not just his CV, but his character. He is firm but fair, gentle yet effective, and principled yet approachable. From handling complex administrative tasks to mediating sensitive personnel matters, he has consistently shown maturity, tact, and leadership.

Whether it’s improving staff welfare, enforcing merit-based promotions, or building morale across ministries, Alhassan always leads with fairness, wisdom, and deep institutional knowledge.

Alhassan Ibrahim is more than a public servant. He is a symbol of discipline, a guardian of integrity, and a visionary administrator whose presence continues to shape the civil service for the better.

In him, Gombe State has a man who walks the corridors of power with humility and leads with wisdom. His appointment as Permanent Secretary is not just well-deserved, it is a beacon of hope to all honest civil servants that diligence, decency, and dedication still matter.

As Gombe’s Government House runs smoothly under his watch, and as reforms quietly take root through his leadership, we see not just a man doing his job, we see a leader building a legacy.

A prince in blood, a servant in heart, and a statesman by all standards, Alhassan Ibrahim is truly a rare gift to public service.
