By Saeed Ahmad Bappah | December 23, 2025  The Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA) has firmly denied allegations circulating on social media that it unlawfully revoked a parcel of land belonging to the late Alhaji Lawan Bawasa and reallocated it to one Saleh Dan Masanin Tumu. The Chairman of GOSUPDA, Alhaji Babbayo Samanja Maudo, made this known while addressing journalists in Gombe, describing the claims as false, misleading, and capable of causing unnecessary public tension. He explained that the land in question, located around the Rainbow Roundabout in Gombe metropolis, was originally owned by the late Alhaji Lawan Bawasa but is currently being claimed by Saleh Dan Masanin Tumu, who allegedly commenced construction on the site without the consent of the Bawasa family.  Kamal Hammajo Adam | 21 December, 2025 GOMBE: The Velocity Humanitarian Foundation has donated the sum of ₦10 million to the Gombe Timber Market Association to support traders affected by a recent fire outbreak that destroyed sections of the market. Presenting the donation in Gombe, the foundation said the gesture was aimed at easing the hardship faced by victims who lost goods and property in the inferno, which occurred twice within one month. Speaking during the presentation, the Chairman of the Gombe Timber Market Association, Muhammad Sani , expressed deep appreciation to the founder of the foundation, Engineer Aliyu Muhammad , for what he described as the highest single donation the association has received since the incident.   Kamal Hamamjo Adam | 20th December, 2023 The Gombe State Government has continued its effort to clear the backlog of retirees’ gratuities, with payments now covering retirees from 2019, including the most recent batch from 2021 to 2023. The State Auditor-General and Chairman of the Gratuity Payment Committee, Mohammad Buba Gombe , confirmed that the government has made significant progress in settling outstanding payments, following approval by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya . Speaking to journalists in Gombe, Buba Gombe said the payment exercise is ongoing and has already been completed for Local Government retirees, while payments for state retirees are nearing completion. In a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the Command clarified that officers from the Pindiga Division and the Kashere Outstation immediately reached out to a church elder who was present during the Hausa service.
