It is trumpeted at every gathering as if it were a magic wand, yet what is happening in our classrooms is a silent tragedy. The policy, in its present form, is not reforming our schools, it is ruining them. The loudest marketers of this so-called achievement are the Governor’s aides, but their hypocrisy is the biggest scandal. They clap in public, then sneak their children into private schools, many of them paid for with State funds.
